Hi, I’m Emily,
an Advanced Skin Specialist based in Cardiff, and the founder of GLOW by Emily. My journey into skincare wasn’t just professional—it was personal. I’ve always struggled with breakouts and mild acne since my early teens, and for years, I couldn’t understand why my skin would still break out despite using so many products and taking care of it. Meanwhile, my friends—who would sleep in their makeup and use wet wipes—seemed to have the clearest skin!
For a while, my skin was controlled while on the contraceptive pill, but once I stopped, the breakouts returned. What I didn’t realise back then was that I never truly understood my skin type or what it needed, and hormonal changes played a huge role too. Investing in skin training has completely changed my perspective —it’s shown me that knowledge and the right information are key to achieving healthy skin. I only wish I knew back then what I know now!
There is no such thing as perfect skin, but managing concerns with the right products and treatments can make a world of difference. Achieving clear, healthy skin isn’t a quick race—it’s a marathon.
